The bathroom is usually the smallest room in your home and they are often just big enough to fit the essentials in. Imagine having the luxury of lots of space so you can have a room for just a free-standing bath and as much cupboard space as you desire. We have recently refitted such a bathroom in a large period home in Topsham near Exeter.
The customer selected most of the fixtures and fittings from Bayswater Bathrooms, which has a traditional design and is available in three Farrow & Ball colour options, Stiffkey Blue, Plummett (grey) and Pointing (white). The furniture has a wipe clean eggshell finish with soft close doors and drawers.
The work started with the original fixtures and fittings being removed so that the new electrics and pipe work could be installed.
The bathroom consisted of two rooms with a free standing bath planned for the inner room and a shower in the outer room, with a double sink unit and toilet to the left. Once the area around the old bath had been boarded and the uneven floor levelled, work could start on installing the new tiles, fittings, flooring, lighting and accessories.
In the inner room we fitted a free-standing bath from Burlington Bathrooms with the mixer tap inset into the wall, hence the need to build a false wall for the pipework, as shown in the photograph above left. Also fitted was a traditional style towel rail radiator.
To the right of the outer room a walk in shower was installed and this was fitted with a 1700 x 900mm non-slip shower tray and 900 x 300mm shower screen. A Bayswater two-head shower completes this stunning shower.
To the left of the outer room we fitted a Bayswater Bathrooms 4-drawer basin cabinet in Pointing White and this was topped with a Bayswater Bathrooms 1050mm mirror wall cabinet. This cabinet comes with lights and has charger points inside for your bathroom gadgets.
The toilet pan is also from Bayswater Bathrooms and is the model Fitzroy.
The finished bathroom (as seen below) shows what a stunning outcome can be achieved if you have the space for free-standing fittings and bathroom furniture. At our showrooms in Exmouth we have a wide range of Bayswater Bathroom fixtures and fittings on display, which also includes items more suitable for smaller bathrooms.
